Blue merle & tan, Rough coat

Silk is a very sweet natured girl who loves to work with you for treats and toys.

She is very nicely balanced, stylish and powerful on her sheep but due to lack of work/training she can get carried away and very pushy and she can grip if allowed the chance, though this was not evident as a puppy, this has developed through frustration and lack of exposure to sheep in a controlled environment. 

 Therefore she now requires an experienced and strong handler with lots of REAL work to finish her training to reach her potential.

She is sold as STARTED on Sheep. 

 
She is crate trained (clean overnight) also quiet and clean if kennelled, she gets on well with other dogs and people. 

Dream has the magic elusive and natural "off switch" a now much more common ASTRA sheepdog trait since we have selected for this for over 20 years.

Dream has produced one litter of pups for us by Ross Game's Tom, we are pleased with how they are shaping and have kept a red merle male. 

We also still have her litter brother Astra Pirate who is now fully trained. 

 She is normal by parentage for all the major DNA tested diseases.

 She will of course carry red and also carries Dilute.

If you wish to breed with Dream - we are selling on condition that you involve us in your selection of studs for her and if you reside in the United Kingdom or EU, we get first pick of litter, from any future litters.

We select our breeding stock based on an uncountable number of points but mainly on TEMPERAMENT & HEALTH, 

without which

you don't have a working dog regardless of its instinct & ability to herd. 

After this we select on the numerous traits

 including at the top of our herding list is their

natural herding instincts shown BEFORE humans interfere with the instinct to herd.  

Dogs usually fail to reach their potential for any job (including as pets) due to - amongst other points

• human error 
• humans lack of training experience
• lack of proper rearing & socialisation of the puppy/dog
• temperament irregularities of its parent and ancestors   

prior to adding to our breeding program,

 we test "trainability" by working with the dog in 

basic and complex obedience tasks, 

ongoing herding training 

and simple everyday living .

As every dog has faults, ultimately the big question is the dog easy and biddable to live with and amenable to strangers and calmly adaptable to new situations? 

in the Dream's case it is a resounding 

YES. 

Fully vaccinated including RABIES. 

It had been planned to keep and finish her training this year, but recent notice ends our tenancy July 2022, in preparation, we must sadly reduce numbers whilst looking for alternative property.
